SAN FRANCISCO—JANUARY 5, 2017—TechHistoryWorks, Science History Consultants, and Levine Media Group today announced an alliance to help high-tech and life sciences companies capture and share their stories. Science History Consultants is a corporate history firm established 32 years ago in Philadelphia. The Levine Media Group specializes in creating content for the life sciences industry. TechHistoryWorks will combine their strengths.
“Successful enterprises are naturally forward-looking, but they often neglect the value of company history until key people have departed, memories have faded, and the stories have been lost,” said Mark Jones, managing director of TechHistoryWorks and author of the forthcoming history of the origins of the biotechnology industry Translating Life, which will be published by Harvard University Press. “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth documenting. We help tech and biotech clients remember struggles and recognize the contributions of individuals and teams. It’s important to celebrate achievements, commemorate milestones, and reinforce corporate values.”
In collaboration with creative specialists—historians, writers, editors, archivists, curators, educators, artists, web designers, and filmmakers—TechHistoryWorks collects and organizes documentary materials, and crafts stories about science, technology, and industry in multiple formats for diverse audiences. Its services includes publishing books, producing films, organizing archives, and designing both virtual and real world exhibits.
“By bringing together historians, writers, and other creative specialists with a deep understanding of the industries we serve we are able to provide a unique service,” said Daniel Levine, principal of Levine Media Group and co-author of the forthcoming history of BioMarin Pharmaceuticals, A Rare Breed. “As these industries mature, there is a unique opportunity to preserve and share the stories of what these companies have accomplished and the people who drove their success.”
